If you’ve read Alien Wanted or my latest release All I Want For Christmas Is An Alien, you’ll get the reference in the subtitle above. When I wrote her character and put her in that house with Makov, I was looking for a way for them to bond, so I thought he could teach her to cook (or rather try to teach her to cook). It was a valiant effort for our brave hero, but alas, it just wasn’t Emily’s forte. But I’m a good baker, so I often draw from my love of baking in my stories.
And since we’re entering the ‘baking season’, we’ve already started in my house. And no, this pumpkin pie below won’t last more than a day with my daughter around. I’ll have to make a fresh one for Thanksgiving.
Why the photos? I used to take photos of my baked goods and post on IG, but when I began publishing my books all the marketing advice said not to post my baking pictures there but to focus on my books. That’s why I share a few baking pics here every now and then. I love to bake (I love to eat too, but that’s another matter). Although, admittedly I don’t like pumpkin pie… and it’s such an easy recipe!
Yes, I forgot the whipped cream. Another easy recipe (and one you can flavor yourself with your favorite alcohol!) Have a great week!
